How it works, from the site visit to the install
Over a six to ten metre run the site visit looks for solid supports first: they set how far apart the posts can go.
A railing drawn, built and installed by the same team.
We take the dimensions from the nose of the tread, regulated height included, and we note what can stay in place. Nothing is drawn before that visit.
You get a dimensioned drawing and a firm price: infill, handrail, fixings. Nothing is cut until you approve it.
Everything is made in Granby, in our own shop. Count six to eight weeks between the approved drawing and the install. We check the dimensions a second time once the parts are laid out.
Our own crew installs it, in one to three days. No subcontractor: the same people from start to finish.
In Mont-Saint-Hilaire, the guard runs along the view. It must not slice it up.
A house on the mountainside almost always opens its living room to double height, with a mezzanine running above. The guard then stretches six, eight, sometimes ten metres in one piece, facing the glass. Two demands pull against each other: the closer the posts, the stiffer the assembly, and the more it chops up the landscape you paid a premium to see. Our job is to push the posts as far apart as the floor structure will allow, then pick an infill that can carry that span. Everything is milled in Granby, for here and for the rest of Montérégie.

Start with the length to be covered
Before material, before tone, it is the distance between the two solid bearings that steers the whole project. Give it to us roughly, paced out if need be: it already tells us which infills remain on the table.
Then say whether the assembly runs along a mezzanine, follows a flight, or does both in sequence. The site measurement settles the rest, and it is carried out by the people who will build the piece.

We subcontract neither the manufacturing nor the installation. The same team measures, mills and installs — and that is what allows us to correct on site the discrepancies no drawing ever anticipates.
Design
We measure the opening at your home, set out the rise and run, and settle the wood species and the railing. The project is fixed before a single piece is cut.
Manufacturing
Milled at the workshop, in hardwood. Every staircase is built for its own opening: nothing is assembled in series or pulled from stock.
Installation
Installed by our own team, in one to three days. Adjustments are made on site, against the real opening rather than the drawing.
Restoration
Straight, winder or spiral, classic or modern — measured at your home, milled at the workshop, installed by our team.

Fitting a new guard beside a run whose risers are uneven only underlines the fault instead of correcting it. In a house built in stages, the two are better settled together.
