A straight staircase connects the ground floor to the floor of a residence in Boucherville. The original structure remained healthy, but the appearance had aged — treads waste, finishing thin. The goal: to return to the hardwood its heat, without reconstructing to nine.
Maintain the structure, renew the surface
Only the treads, the handrail and the visible components were re-made in hardwood, sandedes and oiled to find a net grain and a uniform shade from one walk to the other.
A right track, a careful execution
On a straight track, each detail is counted: the alignment of the treads, the regularity of the stair nosing, the solidity of the handrail. It is in this rigour of execution — more than in the complexity of the track — that the quality of a workshop staircase is played.
