How it works, from the site visit to the install
Here the site visit starts at the anchor: we test the newel before anyone talks about infill.
A railing drawn, built and installed by the same team.
We take the dimensions from the nose of the tread, regulated height included, and we note what can stay in place. Nothing is drawn before that visit.
You get a dimensioned drawing and a firm price: infill, handrail, fixings. Nothing is cut until you approve it.
Everything is made in Granby, in our own shop. Count six to eight weeks between the approved drawing and the install. We check the dimensions a second time once the parts are laid out.
Our own crew installs it, in one to three days. No subcontractor: the same people from start to finish.
In Saint-Bruno, we keep the newels and redo everything between them.
The split-level has something the bungalow does not: a long open run bordering the raised living room, often three or four metres of it, plus a second run where the stairs start. The newels in these houses are heavy and anchored into the framing; fifty years on, they still do not move. What has aged is the infill — thin balusters, widely spaced, fitted when the allowed gap was not the one in force today. So we test the anchor, confirm it still carries the load, then rebuild the full run between the newels we keep, and you are not paying for two new posts. Everything leaves the Granby shop, for Saint-Bruno and for the rest of the South Shore.

Measure two things and we will take it from there
The height of the handrail above the floor, and the total length of the span: those two numbers, even roughly, already tell us whether this is a rebuild between newels or a complete assembly.
A photograph taken square on, at eye level, beats any description. Add one of a newel base if something gives.

We measure the opening at your home, set out the rise and run, and settle the wood species and the railing. The project is fixed before a single piece is cut.

Milled at the workshop, in hardwood. Every staircase is built for its own opening: nothing is assembled in series or pulled from stock.
Installation
Installed by our own team, in one to three days. Adjustments are made on site, against the real opening rather than the drawing.
