Cluster of clear wooden cups around a stairwell opening staircase

In a residence in Brossard, this wood cluster dresses the surrounding of the stairwell opening and separates the stairs from the neighboring room without closing the space. Vertical boxes filter light and draw a regular rhythm that attracts the eye from entrance. Each clear wood boxes were debited, sanded and put one-to-one, from the ground to the ceiling, to form a clear screen as seen from close as from far. The natural shade of wood keeps the whole light and warm. More than a simple protection of stairwell opening, this cluster becomes an architectural element to the whole part that structure the room. It was built and installed by our team.
