How it works, from the site visit to the install
On an older guard, the site visit is there to sort out what can be copied and what has to be replaced.
A railing drawn, built and installed by the same team.
We take the dimensions from the nose of the tread, regulated height included, and we note what can stay in place. Nothing is drawn before that visit.
You get a dimensioned drawing and a firm price: infill, handrail, fixings. Nothing is cut until you approve it.
Everything is made in Granby, in our own shop. Count six to eight weeks between the approved drawing and the install. We check the dimensions a second time once the parts are laid out.
Our own crew installs it, in one to three days. No subcontractor: the same people from start to finish.
In Saint-Lambert, we remake the missing piece. Not the whole run.
Older interiors here often carry a moulded handrail and turned balusters that no catalogue stocks today. When a newel has shifted or a baluster has snapped, swapping the lot for a stock model fixes the fault and erases the character along with it. We do the opposite: the profile is taken off the piece already there, turned and shaped again in the same species, then refitted on a reworked anchor. You pay for what is missing, and the stairwell keeps what made it worth having. Parts are made in Granby and refitted at your place, anywhere on the South Shore.

Describe the guard you already have
Approximate height, what the infill is made of, and what bothers you about it: three details are enough to tell whether this is a light repair or a full replacement.
A straight-on photograph taken from the bottom tells us more than a long description. Add one of the newel base if something moves.

Design
We measure the opening at your home, set out the rise and run, and settle the wood species and the railing. The project is fixed before a single piece is cut.
Manufacturing
Milled at the workshop, in hardwood. Every staircase is built for its own opening: nothing is assembled in series or pulled from stock.
Installation
Installed by our own team, in one to three days. Adjustments are made on site, against the real opening rather than the drawing.
